How does the Safe Driving Program work?
During your first month, we'll surface your Driving Score in the Flexcar app if your vehicle has the necessary equipment, along with helpful tips to stay safe on the road. Your Driving Score will determine potential rewards or surcharges at the end of your 2nd month and each month thereafter. Maintaining a high Driving Score will keep you eligible for rewards each month!
What is the Driving Score and where can I find it?
The Driving Score is a real-time snapshot of your driving habits, designed to provide helpful insights and reward safe driving. Your Driving Score is located on the main page of your Flexcar App. The Driving Score is comprised of several driving behaviors and environmental driving factors, including but not limited to braking, cornering, speed, acceleration, weather, road condition, time of day, and distance. Your score updates daily and will be available in the Flexcar App 7 days into your subscription. If you Driving Score is in the Reward Zone, then you may be eligible for a monthly reward. If you Driving Score is in the Risk Zone, then a surcharge may apply. You can always improve your Driving Score using Flexcar’s driving tips!
What rewards can I earn?
Safe driving habits can unlock perks like discounts, credits, or other exclusive perks. Keep an eye on the Flexcar App to see your progress once your Driving Score is available.
What if I have a low Driving Score?
We're here to help. You'll get personalized guidance and tips to improve your driving. Generally, safe driving habits like smooth braking, steady speeds, and mindful acceleration can help boost your score, and you always can improve your score to work toward rewards. However, sustained risky driving could lead to pricing adjustments after two months and possibly termination of your Flexcar membership.
What is the Monthly Check-In?
The Monthly Check-In is the day that your score will be evaluated as it stands for potential rewards or surcharges to be applied to your next renewal. The Monthly Check-In always occurs 5 days before your next renewal, starting at the end of your 2nd month. The Driving Score does not reset after the Monthly Check-In, it continues to develop over time.
How is the Driving Habits Information collected and used?
Flexcar uses Connected Car devices in each vehicle to monitor the Flexcar Vehicle's condition, performance and operation, track fuel consumption, distance travelled, driving behavior and habits (including but not limited to speeding, reckless driving, etc.), location and other information (the “Connected Car Data”), and transmits such Connected Car Data to Flexcar. Flexcar uses the Connected Car Data along with other factors listed above to create a Driving Score. The Driving Score is the connected to the Primary Member’s account, and Flexcar will infer and create a profile about the Primary Member driving behavior. Can I choose not to participate in the Safe Driving Program?
Participation in the Safe Driving Program is required for anyone with a Flexcar vehicle. If you keep maintain an active Flexcar subscription and have a Flexcar vehicle, you are automatically enrolled in the Safe Driving Program. If you do not want to participate in the Safe Driving Program, then you must return your Flexcar vehicle.
